Mozambique Honeymoon

Planning your honeymoon…congratulations. Mozambique is a fantastic place to honeymoon. It has fantastic weather, friendly people, beautiful scenery, stunning beaches, and is fairly well priced.
Below you will find a few of the top spots to honeymoon in Mozambique.

Honeymoon Inhambane

With direct flights from Joburg, Inhambane is only 4 hours away. There is a very popular place called Barra Lodge in Inhambane, which is more family friendly and relaxed, but still beautiful. However for true luxury you should try Flamingo Bay. You arrive at reception and sit on a golf cart. The golf cart takes you and your luggage along a wooden bridge system (over the lagoon) to your suite. The suite is literally built over the lagoon, and the private balcony has steps leading down into it. Later you are introduced to your own waiter, who will take care of you for the entire time you are there. They get to know how you drink your coffee and what food you don’t like – and truly make it a personally experience. There are many activities in the area, including Quad biking, cycling, diving, swimming, and of course just relaxing by the pool or on the beach. There are no ATM’s near by so take most of the cash you will need (there are very secure safes). I would recommend a combination between SA rands and US dollars.

Honeymoon Indigo Bay

On the Bazaruto Island, Indigo Bay is beautiful. There are state of the art facilities, while still retaining that beach-feel.

Johannesburg to Lilongwe Flights

The unfortunate thing is that, at the moment, none of our low cost airlines (kulula com, flymango co za, 1 time) fly to Lilongwe. Hopefully things will change as 1time have said that they are trying to expand into doing more African routes, as long as they are within 4 hours flying time from Johannesburg (OR Tambo), which Lilongwe is.
At the moment the only airlines flying direct are SAA (saa flights) and Air malawi. However it is possible to catch an indirect flight with other airlines (like Kenya Airways) and, although these do take longer, they are often a cheaper flight to Lilongwe (malawi). Due to the lack of competition, prices remain artificially high and will cost you quite a few thousand rand.

Cape Town to Lilongwe Flights

There are no direct flights to Lilongwe from Cape Town. You will need to make a stop-over in Joburg International and go from there. The same airlines as above offer this route, that is, South African Airways and Kenya Air.

Lilongwe Info

Lilongwe is the capital of Malawi, and is roughly in the centre of the country. It gets its name from the river around which is was settled, called lilongwe. It is a very popular city for South African expats.

Lilongwe airports

There is only 1 international airport in Lilongwe and it is known as Kamuzu International Airport. The airlines that fly to and from it are SAA, Kenya Airways, Air Malawi, Ethiopian airlines and Air zimbabwe.

Cheap Melbourne Flights

To compare and book flights to Melbourne (Australia), please click on the button below. You will be taken to our flight comparison tool which will find you the cheapest Flight to Melbourne

Johannesburg to Melbourne Flights

Most people would fly to Sydney and make their way to Melbourne using an internal flight. However, it is possible to fly there from South Africa without a stop in Australia, however there will still be a stop-over. That is to say that no airline at the moment flies direct Johannesburg to Melbourne. Indirect flight options include Emirates, SAA (SAA flights), Qantas and Singapore airlines.  As there is a stop-over the entire flight time will be very dependent on the layover time, with total journey taking anywhere between 21-27hours.

Cape Town to Melbourne Flights

Depending on the airline, the flight to Melbourne from cape town can be a little more complicated. Although SAA will fly there, some airlines actually have two stops for you to take, like Qantas which will fly cape town to johannesburg, johannesburg to Sydney and then Sydney to Melbourne. The layovers are extremely quick though, so these flights can still take a very similar time to the JHB to Melbourne flights.

Melbourne Info

Melbourne is a quite a trendy city and is often referred to as the cape town of Australia. This similarity is further compounded by the city being surrounded by wine farms. There are tons of things to do, but as always, the best way to explore a city is by walking it and using public transport.

Johannesburg to Sydney Flights

Most people would fly to Sydney from Johannesburg, mainly because OR Tambo is our main international airport. You can fly there direct with SAA (SAA flights), Qantas, and VAustralia. The non-stop flight will take around 13hours. Indirect flights will take longer (depending on how long the stop over is), however are typically quite a bit cheaper. A few airlines offer these indirect flights to Sydney and include Emirates, Singapore, and Cathay Pacific, to name a few.

Cape Town to Sydney Flights

Almost all the flights to Sydney from Cape Town will be indirect. The airline options remain the same as those for the JHB to Sydney flight.

BA Flights OR Tambo to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport

To book with BA, click on the button below to be taken to our flight comparisons page.

British Airways has just announced that, starting 4th May, they will begin operating flights to Nelspruit (Kruger) from Johannesburg. This will surely increase competition and more choice for passengers, and hopefully start to bring prices down. There will be 6 weekly flights, outbound leaving at 10:40am and the return at 12pm. The flight will take around 40 minutes. One has to ask the question though, why didn’t Comair choose to use kulula (kulula.com) instead of BA?

Airlines that fly to Australia

The only airlines that fly non-stop to Australia from SA are SAA (flysaa), Qantas and soon V Australia. V Australia is the new kid on the block and with it comes increased competition, which hopefully will bring prices down. There are however numerous airlines that fly with 1-stop, such as Emirates, Singapore airlines and Thai Airways. Direct, flying time is normally around 12 hours, but indirect really depends on how long the stop-over is for.
