SAA
FlySaa
Saa is the national carrier of South Africa. Since the low cost airlines came into the market, such as Kulula.com, flyMango and 1Time, they have had to really lift their game in order to stay competitive. This has resulted in more on-time flights, better service and cheaper deals. However, being that Saa (www.flysaa.com) is such a massive organisation, these things do take time and as such most people still prefer to fly the budget airlines when flying domestically.
Destinations
Saa flies to all domestic locations such as durban, cape town, johannesburg, george, port elizabeth, richards bay etc. They also fly internationally to London (heathrow), europe, and that States.

Mango
Mango Airlines
Mango Airlines is completed owned and managed by SAA. They are a low cost airline. It is the third and last budget airline in South Africa and well known for its bright orange colour.
They have been doing large advertising pushes recently and have very competitive deals. Many people have though questioned how separate they are from SAA and whether our tax money is being used to keep them afloat while the other airlines (namely 1Time) struggle with making the company profitable in its own right.

Kulula
Kulula.com
Kulula is the original low cost (budget/no frills) airline. When it first launched it took the South African market by storm as South African’s had never heard of no frills air travel before. More than this there was a monopoly at the time with almost every flight being run by SAA – the national carrier. As such prices remained high and service remained low.
Once Kulula (www.kulula.com) launched that all changed. Due to their low cost set up and super low prices many more South Africans were able to fly, and those who were flying already were able to fly even more frequently. Kulula was able to offer such low prices due to the fact that they did not offer any free meals or beverages on the flight and luggage weight was also restricted.
However for such short flight times (cape town to joburg flights etc.) it was not an issue and most people were very welcoming of it, especially since it also meant that prices were so much cheaper.
