Flights Port Elizabeth
The Port Elizabeth Airport is a relatively small yet efficient airport handling around 2 million passengers annually. The airport, which was previously known as the H.F. Verwoerd Airport, is a mere 10-minute drive outside of the city. While the airport has 3 runways as well as a modern terminal building, no international flights fly directly into the city. Many land first in Johannesburg and then connect through to Port Elizabeth from there. Because of the popularity of the city as a tourist destination, the airport see’s a fair number of flights throughout the day.
Airlines flying to and from Port Elizabeth
The airport only handles airlines flying in from domestic SA locations. 1Time flies in from Cape Town and Johannesburg; while South African Airlink does Bloemfontein and East London. British Airways (operated by Comair) and South African Airways both fly in from Johannesburg. South African Express flies from Cape Town and Durban, and Kulula does Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg (including Lanseria).
